FAQs

PRINTING

What 3D print filament do you use?

We currently only use PLA+ filament. This allows for high quality, strong and durable prints. It is also a cheaper option for 3D printing.

What is PLA+?

PLA+ is a filament used for 3D printing that delivers high quality prints as well as being strong and durable. It is also a much cheaper option for 3D printing. Please note the melting point for this filament is anywhere from 130ºC to 180ºC which doesn’t make it suitable for designs that will be exposed to high temperatures for long periods of time. This is also the only 3D printing filament that we provide.

What colours are available?

The colours that we have available are red, orange, green, blue, gold, black, white, grey and transparent.

I know what I want to print but don't have the model. What can I do?

Whether you have seen a print you want printed for yourself, or have an idea of what you want to print but don't the model, Contact Us what you would like printed and we will be able to send you a quote and print it for you. If you want to print an original design but you don't have a model, visit our Create Custom Model Page.

Can I print in multiple colours?

Yes and no. If your design has multiple parts you can print each part in a different colour. However one singular part cannot be printed in multiple colours. If you wish to have your parts printed in different colours, order the parts separately and choose the different colours you wish to have printed.

What is infill density and what should I choose?

The infill density is the density percentage of your design. The higher the percentage the more dense and solid the print will be. We recommend 40% as this allows for a solid and durable print.

Where can I find 3D models files?

You can find thousands of free 3D model files on MyMiniFactory, Thingiverse. Cults, and Pinshape.

What file format do I need?

For us to be able to print a design you need to upload any of these file types: STL, OBJ, STP, IGES, DXF. These can be created through any CAD software or downloaded for free from MyMiniFactory, Thingiverse, Cults, and Pinshape.

Can I make more customisations to a product or a print I've requested?

Yes. If you would like to do this either specify your customisation in the special requests section in the cart, or Contact Us.

What are your print limitations?

The maximum dimensions that we can print are 20cm x 20cm x 22cm. We strictly do not print any weapons or weapon accessories. It is also important to note that all of our models printed in PLA+ filament.

What is support material?

Support material is breakaway support printed onto the model to hold it up while printing and allow models with overhanging edges to be printed. All models that need support material will have it added for free and the model will be delivered to you without the support.

Why is my file taking so long to upload?

When you upload a file, you are making a call to a CURA API on a remote server to calculate the price of your model. The larger the model or file size, the longer uploading a model may take. The speed of your device may also contribute to a slow upload. We recommend using a computer to upload your model.

How can I upload a model with multiple parts?

If a model you wish to print has multiple parts and would like to order them in one go, please click here. This link will take you to a page where you will receive a quote for the printing of all your parts. Currently you can't upload multiple models on the upload model page at the same time, so you must contact us with the printing information and we will send you a quote within 24 hours. This quote will calculate the parts as if they were printed all together instead of individually. We understand that many of our customers choose to print models with multiple parts and don't want to pay over the minimum price for each part, so if you wish to do this please follow this link

Can I print prop weapons. for example cosplay accessories?

Yes. You can only print weapons or weapon accessories if they are used as props and can't be used to function as a weapon. Before printing we will make sure that the model cannot function as a weapon.

What will happen if my model can't be printed?
